Well THERE'S your problem
I found an asthma inhaler by the print station and made an announcement for the person to come pick it up. Pretty soon a young woman showed up and said "Oh my gosh, thank you! I'm always losing things. I've lost two packs of cigarettes in the last three days!"

Mysterious book of the day
A lady came up wanting the book A Kindness to Birds by Preston Brooks. I looked everywhere; in our catalog, in our consortium catalog, even on Amazon...nothing.
Turns out it's actually a made-up book from the novel How I Became a Famous Novelist by Steve Hely! I'm not sure how she heard of it, since she said she hadn't read the Hely book. She walked away before I could ask!
[I have read it and it's hilarious but kind of ruins "literary" fiction for you for a while.]

Get out the map!
Woman asks me to look up where the travel books would be on Eastern Europe. I start to type it in to see what's available. Apparently it takes too long. She says-- type in Sweden... I'm going to Sweden!
